Origin Story
I didn't create MarytoJohn. God did.
​
I was in the middle of an existential crisis, hating my job and frustrated with the treadmill of life. I planned to switch careers and start over somewhere new and exciting.
I was reading and rereading the offer letter my soon-to-be employer emailed me when I knew I had to turn it down.
"Wait," God whispered to me.
"I hate it here. This is a great opportunity. Why would I wait?" I responded with exasperation.
"Just wait." He responded.
So I waited.
Within the next week I was flooded with exactly what to do. I needed to create a brand, I needed to call it MarytoJohn, and I needed to trust that the Lord would fill in the rest.

And that's exactly what He did.

Why the name "MarytoJohn"?
During the whirlwind that was the brand's origin, the name came to represent the mission statement and brand focus.
TO [ATTEMPT TO] PROVIDE JESUS'S LEVEL OF INCLUSIVITY
The name MarytoJohn represents everyone.

It represents adopted FAMILY
John 19:26-27, "When Jesus saw His mother there, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to her, 'Woman, here is your son,' and to the disciple, 'Here is your mother.' From that time on, this disciple took her into his home."

It represents the spectrums of HUMANS
MarytoJohn can also be read as Mary-John. To encompass any and every one from Mary to John.
​
It represents all WALKS OF LIFE
Mary could also represent Mary Magdalene and John as John the Baptist. MarytoJohn is for you regardless of your upbringing and your past.
